Multiple Seahawks Injuries Taint Colts Rout

Multiple Seahawks Injuries Taint Colts RoutComing off a lopsided 46-18 rout against the Luckless Indianapolis Colts, the Seahawks easily covered the 13-point spread. Unfortunately, they’re now spread thin by injury. In fact, multiple Seahawks injuries in Week 4’s matchup with Indy overshadow the team’s easy win and chill their momentum going into next week’s showdown with the Rams in Los Angeles.

Starting left tackle Rees Odhiambo (who was himself filling in for the injured George Fant) was taken to the hospital on a stretcher following the game, apparently having suffered a chest injury during the third quarter. Additionally, rookie running back Chris Carson – the team’s starter in the backfield – suffered a “significant ankle injury” per head coach Pete Carroll, and he was carted off the field during the fourth quarter. Eddie Lacy, Carson’s probable replacement, had 52 yards on 11 carries Sunday, so there’s some potential there to mitigate any production issues going forward. Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane and defensive end Cliff Avril both left the game early, the former suffering a hip/groin injury and the latter experiencing a neck injury. Their Week 5 statuses are currently unknown, but neither injury seems significant at this early stage.

Still, despite multiple Seahawks injuries, BestUSASportsbooks.com saw that Seattle easily dispatched Indianapolis. Their Week 5 matchup against LA, however, won’t be nearly as easy. None of the premier online sportsbooks have odds posted just yet, but – given that the Rams proved their mettle against the Cowboys and are clearly the real deal with one of the league’s most potent offenses – the game should be a tight one, and these Seahawks injuries could factor significantly into the outcome. Personally, I’ll need some serious convincing to pick the Seahawks this Sunday. Or, at the very least, a seriously friendly spread. Otherwise, I’m putting my clams on the Rams.
