Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliot To Play In Week 7 Game Against 49ers
As the yearlong investigation into his alleged violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy continues, the issuance of a temporary restraining order on the NFL’s six-game ban imposed upon Elliot was another small victory.
Elliot sought the TRO after a federal appeals court overthrew a Texas court’s injunction that temporarily allowed the star running back to play in the first five games of the season. Elliot and the NFL will need to appear in court on October 30th to argue details of the suspension, but for now, teammates and fans can be thankful that one of their best players will be on the field.
The San Francisco 49ers are 0-6, but the 2-3 Cowboys still need the 2016 rushing leader to stay in the running for the NFC playoff. During the first five games of the 2017 NFL season, Elliot has rushed for 393 yards and two touchdowns. However, in the fourth quarter of the Week 5 game against Green Bay we saw the running back that is the heart of the Cowboys. Elliot had his best quarter of the season, with 13 carries for 85 yards, which included a huge 25 yard gain.
